Ms. Deidira “Dee” Stewart is an Assistant Professor of Nursing. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Radford University in 1997. As a registered nurse, Ms. Stewart has worked as a staff nurse, preceptor, and a critical care education specialist.  She has been teaching at Jefferson College since 2004 where she has taught classroom and clinical primarily in the areas of surgical, vascular, and cardiac progressive care. Ms. Stewart also works as a staff nurse in a local hospital where she cares for adult patients in the medical surgical, progressive care, and intensive care settings. Ms. Stewart is a BLS and ACLS instructor. Her areas of specialty include acute care, cardiac, and intensive care. She has provided service to Jefferson College by active participation and leadership in faculty senate and college curriculum committees. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, and serves as counselor for the STTI Tau Phi chapter.
