Mrs. Laura Lee Whitten is currently working towards her DNP at Case Western Reserve University and has graduate degrees in both nursing education and counseling/psychology. As faculty at Jefferson College of Health Care, Mrs. Whitten teaches Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing both in the classroom and clinical at Carilion Rehab. She has 35 years of nursing experience in case management and pain management with hospice & palliative care, psychiatric nursing for crisis intervention for both in-patient and out-patient care environments. She is the chair elect for the Virginia League of Nursing and a member of Sigma Theta Tau. Mrs. Whitten volunteers at MHA performing mental health intake assessments and at Trust House providing psychoeducational groups to support homeless clients in their transition to independent living.
