Richard Brown, M.Div

Assistant Professor

Richard Brown is the Director of Chaplaincy Services for the Carilion Clinic and Director of the Clinical Pastoral Education programs at the Carilion Medical Center.  Richard is also an Assistant Professor of Interprofessional Education at the Jefferson College of Health Sciences and Instructor at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Prior to moving into administration and education he has twenty years of experience as a clinical chaplain focusing in pediatrics and women’s health.  Richard has been a Board Certified Chaplain since 1997.  Between 2007 and 2011 was a Clinical Education Fellow at the University of Virginia and satisfied the written and oral requirements to attained status as a Certified Supervisor of Clinical Education.
