On Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, Jefferson College of Health Sciences hosted another session of the ongoing series, "HandsOn Healthcare." The series is a collaboration between Jefferson College of Health Sciences and Region 5 public schools to introduce healthcare-related modules to adult English as a Second Language (ESL) students.
The December session, "Introduction to Anatomy," was held on the Jefferson College campus at Carillion Roanoke Community Hospital. This was a 2-part course designed to give adult ELL students a hands-on introduction to human anatomy.
This will be an ongoing collaborative project with up to 10 more classes over the next few years. You can see photos from a Hand Hygiene session held last spring on our campus at www.jchs.edu/event/jefferson-college-co-hosts-esl-introduction-healthcare-project-hand-hygiene-module.
