On Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 the JCHS Student Affairs Department sponsored "A Taste of Jefferson," a progressive food tasting event.
Students, faculty and staff were invited to "travel" through different countries with each participating program or department, sampling food and having their passports stamped.
We begin our international tour in Germany, located in the JCHS Bookstore. Greeting our guests are (left to right) Sponsored Projects Coordinator Amanda Ellinger and Bookstore Retail Lead Stephanie Coles.
Next, we head over to China in the Office of the Registrar where we find JCHS Registrar Linda Williams (right) and Admissions Counselor Tristin Kaase.

The Office of Financial Aid and Admissions played the role of France this year with, among others, Assistant Director of Admissions Sarah Ross greeting visitors.

Our travelers found Ireland represented in the Administration Suite. A warm Irish greeting was given by (left to right) Dean for Administrative Services Anna Millirons, Resource Development Officer Catherine Turner, Administrative Services Coordinator Kathy Cochenour, and Administrative Dean to the Deans Carol Farley.

Our Learning Resource Center and Library brought some Creole culture to our event, including these tasty looking treats, offered by Coordinator of the Learning & Writing Center Emily Moore.

Then, we came back to America, hosted by our Physician Assistant and Rehab & Wellness Departments. Our all-American crew here are (left to right) Health & Exercise Science Program Director Ally Bowersock, Physician Assistant Clinical Resource Associate john Johnson, and PA Assistant Professor Sara Nicely.
Our American folks dressed to represent the historical and current periods in our nation's history, while giving out wonderful treats like hot dogs and chili!
As we toured America, we ran into JCHS Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Lisa Allison-Jones and JCHS President Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop.
Showing us the tougher side of America Was Judy Lash, Associate Professor in Physician Assistant, all dolled up in her Harley Davidson gear.
From America, we sailed over to Italy, housed in the JCHS Nursing Department. Heading up our Italian kitchen was Clinical Resource Associate Beth Biggio (left) and Department Secretary Carol Robinson.
Over in Respiratory Therapy, we find the southwestern American culture represented by Chase Poulsen, Program Director. he handed out his treats with flair! (And a sombrero…)
And then, we headed back to home base in The Dog House, our student union, where we found these lovely lasses having a great time!

Thanks again to all who participated so enthusiastically and creatively in this year's A Taste of Jefferson event. It was a great time for everyone! America (aka folks from the JCHS Physician Assistant and Rehab & Wellness Departments) was crowned this year's A Taste of Jefferson winners. Chosen by students, faculty and staff that "toured" all of the countries during the event, their wonderful food and welcoming atmosphere won the day!<P>
