Welcome to Jefferson College of Health Sciences
To our new students joining the Jefferson family this fall,
We are so pleased that you have chosen Jefferson to continue your educational journey. The transition from high school to college is a significant milestone, and ensuring your success is foremost in our minds.
For this reason, we welcome you to BLUE—Building Loyalty, Understanding, and Excellence.
This week-long experience is your opportunity to begin the transition from high school to Jefferson College. We feel so strongly about the importance of BLUE Week that we require your attendance at all functions. There will be no cost for the planned BLUE experiences; however some meals will be on your own.
BLUE Week begins on Monday, August 11, 2014 and will conclude with the Jefferson College Fall Convocation on Tuesday, August 19. Resident students will move in the morning of August 11 and will receive additional information from Residence Life. The BLUE Week events will begin at 4 p.m. with a student kick-off and a separate orientation for parents, followed by a picnic for new students and their parents.
BLUE is a busy week. Most days begin at 8 a.m. and continue well into the evening (about 9 p.m.). Some days are long, but all of them are fun-filled. Even the serious activities are designed for enjoyment. BLUE may well be the most important activity of the semester, so be sure to reserve these dates in your schedule. Should it become necessary to be excused from a specific activity, you must submit a written request to me as soon as possible.
A detailed schedule of our BLUE Week activities can be found below. You may stay informed about developments by joining our Facebook group, “Jefferson College of Health Sciences 2014 BLUE Week.” This is a great way to meet other BLUE Healers before the 11th.Simply go to the URL, https://www.facebook.com/groups/JCHSblueweek/, and request to be included in the group.
In the meantime, enjoy preparing to join us in August. We are all looking forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey as a Jefferson BLUE Healer.
