Book/Media Ordering
|
| The LRC staff works directly with faculty members and program directors to further collection development for each program of study at the College. The LRC staff makes recommendations to College faculty for the acquisition of books, media, and journals and responds to faculty and staff requests for these materials. Please consult with an LRC staff member regarding purchasing of these materials and collection development; or submit to the LRC a Book/Media request form located on our web site. |

Carilion employees
Roanoke College and Hollins University students
Please bring your ID badge when checking out materials
Loan Period and Restrictions
Books from the regular collection may be checked out for four weeks.
Books may be renewed once by phone.
Reference Books are for use only in the LRC.
Reserve materials are for use only in the LRC.
Faculty are permitted to check out audiovisual equipment, videos, DVDs and computer files. Students needing to use audiovisual equipment must see the LRC staff for specific policies regarding their use.
Journals may be used only in the LRC.
Special Collections and Archives items may be used only in the LRC.

Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH) (985-8498)
JCHS students and faculty have full use of the Carilion hospital library in Roanoke.
The holdings of the hospital library may be accessed through the LRC's online catalog.
Loan Rules:
Books may be checked out during staffed hours for four weeks. Student ids are required.
Two renewals are allowed.
Periodicals:
The LRC keeps a current listing of journals held by the hospital libraries.
Students may either request journal articles via LRC staff or visit on their own to make copies.

Hollins University and Roanoke College

Students and faculty of the Jefferson College of Health Sciences have check out privileges at both Hollins University and Roanoke College.
The holdings of the Hollins and Roanoke College libraries may be accessed from their combined online catalog which is available at http://www.roanoke.edu.
Loan Rules:
Materials available for loan -- books & documents
Loan period -- four weeks
Renewals allowed
Books must be returned directly to the lending library
ID Cards:
JCHS patrons must present their JCHS ID card to check out materials.
Periodicals:
JCHS students and faculty can request journal articles from the other institutions through the regular ILL process or go personally to the holding library to make copies.
