Tutoring Services

Tutoring Services

Our goal is to ensure that all JCHS students receive the academic support needed to succeed in their classes. Tutoring Services at Jefferson College of Health Sciences are available free of charge to all students who seek help.

Tutoring is provided by trained peer tutors and volunteers, on a one-on-one, drop-in or small-group basis. Students receiving one-on-one tutoring are assigned to meet with a tutor at least one hour a week.

To request a tutor, students must fill out a Tutor Request Form, available in Room 703, 705, or on most of the college bulletin boards. The Tutor Request Form should be submitted to Barbara Awbrey in Students Services, Room 705 or via e-mail to bawbrey@jchs.edu.

Tutor requests may be submitted any time during the semester, but due to availability, it is recommended that students request tutors at the beginning of the semester. Tutoring will cease each semester one week before final exams.

For more information call Barbara Awbrey at (540) 985-8449.
