LWC General Information

The Learning and Writing Center (LWC) is a resource for students who need assistance with mastering course material and/or writing. Students may work directly with fellow students and/or staff in one-on-one or small group settings. A strong base of computer tutorials and Internet-based applications offer students a variety of out-of-class solutions for help with academic problems and skill development.
The Learning and Writing Center’s goal is to ensure that all students receive the academic support needed to succeed in their classes. Tutoring services are available free of charge to all students who seek help. Services are provided weekly by trained peer tutors, professional tutors, and volunteers on a one-one-one, drop in, or small group basis.
The Learning and Writing Center has numerous resources available for students’ use in many subject areas. These resources include tutorial software programs, books, study aids, educational handouts, and the Einstein Files – a collection of notes, tests, and quizzes donated by students. Career-search materials are also available.
Workshops will also be conducted throughout the academic year on topics such as the following: writing in APA style, test-taking skills, and memory and learning workshops. Workshop dates will be announced.
