Bio:
Mr. Al Overstreet earned his M. Ed. in Counseling Education from Virginia Tech, an A.S. in Occupational Therapy Assistant and a B.S. in Health Organization Management from the College of Health Sciences. Mr. Overstreet has over 12 years of experience working with students in a variety of roles. Currently, he serves as the Director of Academic Support Services with supervisory responsibilities over Academic Advising, the Pathways to Student Success (PASS) program and the Educational Testing Center (ETC). Mr. Overstreet works directly with students by teaching the Academic Seminar course and providing academic and personal counseling. In the past, 
Mr. Overstreet served the College as faculty and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

Bio:
Mrs. Emily Moore earned her M.A. in English with an emphasis in Teaching from Old Dominion University. She completed her B.A.I.S. from George Mason University, where she studied literature, culture, and history. Prior to working at JCHS, Mrs. Moore taught English at Virginia Western Community College and was a graduate teaching assistant for composition and environmental studies classes at ODU. As Coordinator of the Learning & Writing Center, Ms. Moore coordinates tutoring, writing assistance and services for students with disabilities.

Bio:
Mrs. Letisha Houston earned her B.A. in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing, from Virginia Tech in May 2006. Among other job experiences, Mrs. Houston has held a variety of positions with Carilion Clinic since 2002. In the past, she has held a variety of tutoring roles in which she worked closely with students and peers. Mrs. Houston began working at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in January 2008 as the Educational Technology Assistant in the Educational Technology Center, where her major roles include proctoring tests for students, assisting faculty and students with technical problems in the computer lab, and editing/publishing The Paw Print student newsletter.

Bio:
Mr. Rase McCray earned his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Hollins University and both his M.A. in Comparative Literature and his Graduate Certificate in Professional Writing & Editing from the University of Cincinnati. As well, he received degrees in English, publishing arts and music composition from Pacific Lutheran University. Before coming to JCHS, Mr. McCray worked as a freelance writer, editor and web-designer, in addition to having taught in the University of Cincinnati’s composition program. As Writing Specialist for the Learning and Writing Center, he provides writing support at all stages of creation, from prewriting to proofreading, primarily assisting undergraduates.
