The walls are now being constructed on
the fifth floor and hallways are
beginning to take shape.

Large areas that will soon be
home to classrooms await carpet,
paint and all the finishing touches.

Some walls have already gotten an
initial paint job. The colors will
reflect the look and feel of completed
JCHS area at CRCH, like The Dog
House on the fourth floor.

This area will be an integrated skills lab,
where several JCHS programs will share
space. Again, notice the wall colors,
which are reminiscent of
The Dog House.

hallway has been completed, but
paint has yet to be applied.

for walls are up, but the drywall hasn't
been applied yet.

Near the elevators, carpet and wall
decorations have been stripped and
await a new look. from the window

Office Building.

The fifth floor at CRCH is currently under
construction and will soon house
classrooms and labs.

|

Construction began in fall 2009 and
significant progress has been made
in removing some old medical fixtures.
Taken in December 2009
|
|

In some areas, the renovation has
seen the interior of the floor removed
completely.
Taken in December 2009
|

In other areas, not all fixtures have
been removed. Here you can see a
reception desk that will remain.

Through a window on the fifth floor, you
can see the Reid Center, the current
home of JCHS. The move from Reid to
CRCH should be completed in 2010.

From a window on the fourth floor, just
beyond the foot bridge, you can see
where construction crews are removing
debris during construction.

By March, most of the interior space
had been cleared and was being
cleaned in preparation to begin
putting up walls
Taken in March 2010
|

The only remaining structures were
pipe chases and support beams.
Walls will be constructed around
these items in coming months.
Taken in March 2010
|
|

Some interior removal led to a few
surprises, like this wallpaper, which
may have been left over from the time
that CRCH was a children's hospital.

|

An up close view of the wallpaper
discovered as interiors on the sixth
floor of CRCH were removed.
Taken in March 2010
|
|

Because of heavy dust and debris,
sections of the sixth floor were
curtained off with plastic sheeting.
Taken in March 2010
|

The plastic sheeting enclosed most
of center portion of the floor in
spring 2010.

|

Renovation is also taking place on
the sixth floor of CRCH, which will
house more classrooms, labs and
some offices.
Taken in December 2009
|

On the sixth floor, the interior has been
removed and structures for new
walls have begun to go up.
Taken in December 2009
|
|

In some areas, you can even begin to
get a feel for what the interior will look
like when complete.
Taken in December 2009
|

Other areas have been cleaned out,
but still have a lot of work yet to
be completed.

This is an area that will eventually be
a main hallway on the sixth floor,
leading to classrooms and labs.

Students and faculty will also have
lots of storage space in the new
laboratories.

by several programs across the
JCHS curriculum. Here, cabinets
are being installed.

can store temperature-sensitive
items.

Three operating rooms have been left
almost as-is so JCHS students can
practice their skills in a real clinical
environment.

are recovery rooms that will remain
intact.

welcomed faculty and staff offices,
as well as the JCHS integrated skills
labs.

patient rooms have been renovated
into comfortable working spaces.

Work has begun to repaint walls,
remove children's play areas and
create conference spaces and offices.

empty, but will soon house faculty
and staff offices.

patient rooms into offices.
