Healthcare Management
at Jefferson College of Health Sciences

Program Highlights
The Healthcare Management (HCM) Program is uniquely flexible to meet the educational needs of both traditional college students as well as working adults seeking to balance the demands of work, school and family:

  • Courses are taught using a mixture of traditional classroom sessions held once weekly, during evening hours and online coursework.
  • Transfer credit from accredited colleges is accepted for advanced placement in the program.
  • Advisors are available to assist students in developing full or part time plans of study that meet the individual needs of our students.
  • Financial aid available for qualifying students.
A degree in Healthcare Management can take students in many different and exciting directions. Core management skills developed in the JCHS HCM program provide graduates with a competitive advantage for supervisory roles within traditional healthcare organizations such as hospitals, nursing homes, physicians’ offices, and healthcare clinics as well as positions with pharmaceutical companies, management consulting, health insurance companies, healthcare professional organizations, and state and federal agencies.

Robin Davis, ’11, HCM
“The Healthcare Management Program at JCHS closely aligned
with my current position, and
helped me to grow in that role
as I approached graduation.
But, for me classes won’t end
with graduation!
I have been
accepted into a master’s program. This Program provided me
with the experiences I
needed to successfully continue my education.”

Career Opportiunities with a Healthcare Management Degree
Students in the HCM program arrive with degrees and careers in many different areas of healthcare, including respiratory care, imaging, emergency management, physical therapy, occupational therapy and nursing. Additionally, many students also have education or work experience in non-clinical support departments such as health information management, purchasing, human resources, patient access and admissions, physician office administration, physical plant and other business-related support departments. The HCM degree can help these professionals advance in their careers and assume leadership roles in their organizations.

Earning Potential and Employment Outlook with an HCM Degree
Labor statistics indicate the job outlook and salaries for healthcare management positions is growing faster than the national average and that means more high-paying job opportunities for our graduates. Alternatively, for those interested in graduate studies, this program will successfully prepare students for advanced studies in management and health-related disciplines.
