More New JCHS Signage Installed at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital, October 2011
On Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, additional signage for JCHS was installed at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH) on the side of the building that faces Interstate 581. This new rectangular sign joins a square JCHS sign that was mounted on the tower of CRCH facing Jefferson Street and northbound I-581 in September. A final college sign will be installed on the side of the building toward Jefferson Street later this fall. The new signage is an effort to let the Roanoke community know about JCHS's presence in the CRCH building. More photos from the sign installation are below. Click on an image to enlarge the photo.

The crew installing the sign readies it
for lift off behind CRCH.

When it was finally ready, the sign
began its ascent.

Slowly and steadily, the new sign rose
to its new home.

The sign faces Interstate 581 and is
lit at night for better visibility.

The new JCHS signage helps the
Roanoke community know that
CRCH is now the home of JCHS.

When in place, the crew began
affixing it to the side of the building
and wiring it in.

As the sign went up, WDBJ-7, the local
CBS affiliate, conducted an interview with
Dr. Lisa Allison-Jones, JCHS Dean for
Academic Affairs.

The view of the new sign on the
JCHS campus at CRCH from
across Interstate 581 once
installation was complete.
