Master of Science in Nursing
at Jefferson College of Health Sciences

Program Highlights
If this is the right time for you to get your Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, Jefferson College of Health Science (JCHS) is the right place for you.

JCHS offers two MSN degree tracks in:

  • Nursing Systems Management
  • Nurse Clinician Educator

Both programs of study were planned for the working professional nurse. Courses are offered through a combination of online instruction coupled with didactic classroom instruction. Students come to campus for orientation and two to four additional times during each course.

The unique curriculum of the JCHS MSN Program offers you the opportunity to:

Learn from faculty with real world nursing experience. Courses in the MSN programs are taught by faculty members who bring with them a variety of nursing experiences. Many maintain certification in their areas of expertise, hold joint appointments in healthcare systems or are doing research in healthcare. These same faculty members are available as teachers and advisors to you as you move through your program of study at JCHS.

Experience small classes with an abundance of individual attention from instructors. We deliberately keep our MSN class sizes small so graduate faculty take a personal interest in the success of the students. As a result, the students have the opportunity to excel in their graduate education while learning from the experience of their classmates and professors.

Becky Underwood, '13
MSN Student
"The instructors in the JCHS
Master of Science in Nursing Program want the
students to excel, which was very important to me when choosing
the next step in my education.
The program is designed to help
you succeed on your journey toward an advanced degree and the professional doors that degree
can open for you."

Earn your graduate degree in as little as two years.
Full-time students can complete the MSN program in two years of intense study. Part-time study is available for the Nursing Systems Management track. Registered nurses are admitted to the program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program. Registered nurses with a bachelor’s degree in another field can be admitted to the MSN program. Generally, students without a BSN will only need to take two to three leveling courses. These courses can be taken in the summer prior to the start of fall classes. Some are offered online.

A Degree to Help You Prepare for Your Future
The JCHS MSN Program prepares nurses like you for leadership roles within your healthcare organization and clinical and academic education roles. Your experiences in the program will help you to influence the provision of high quality healthcare, while initiating and managing change, as well as contributing to improving nursing knowledge and practice. The MSN degree can be the basis for a bright future with a variety of new opportunities for you to pursue!
