Stephanie Simpson, B.A.
Coordinator of Residence Life
Welcome to our community! Whether you are a new or returning student, I look forward to working with each of you in the exciting year ahead. I was born in California, but have lived on the east coast for most of my life. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from Roanoke College where I took advantage of many enriching opportunities, one of those being residential living. My experience at Roanoke, serving as a Resident Advisor and living in a residence hall, showed me the lasting impact of a strong community. I am confident that you will also gain invaluable lessons, memories, and opportunities that come with being part of a fun and supportive community. I hope that you find a home away from home here at Jefferson College. See you soon!
Resident Advisors, also known as RAs, are student paraprofessionals who live in the Patrick Henry residence hall. RAs are primarily responsible for getting to know all students in the residence hall and helping to build a strong community. RAs provide a variety of social and educational programs for residents, carry out administrative functions associated with the residence hall, and uphold College policies, state and federal law. Additionally, one RA is on duty every night of the week beginning at 8pm and concluding at 7am the next morning in order to assist with any student issues that arise.
Adam Battaglia, Resident Advistor
Hello! I'm Adam Battaglia, and I am in the biomedical sciences program. I hope to go to medical school and become a doctor after my time at JCHS. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking or just walking around downtown. I love living in the Patrick Henry, and meeting everyone in the dorms. Meeting new people is always fun so don't be a stranger. I know college can be tough transition, but it is well worth it. In the words of Bernie Siegel, "Embrace each challenge in your life as an opportunity for self-transformation."
Dillon Whitlow, Resident Advisor
Hi! I’m Dillon Whitlow; I am a second semester sophomore in the Nursing Program. I am originally from a small, almost unknown town called Boydton, Virginia. I am extremely excited to start this new year and be one of your RA’s! I am ready and excited to help and have fun while keeping everything safe and helping everyone transition to life at the PH. In my spare time I love to hang out with my friends, sleep, play PS4, Netflix, go out in downtown, and just find fun stuff to do. I love to cook and I work part time downstairs at Sarah’s Place, come see me! Feel free to stop by and knock anytime, I can’t wait to meet everyone!
Brittney Crews, Resident Advisor
I’m Brittney Crews. I’m from Halifax, VA. This will be my forth year living at the Patrick Henry. I graduated from the Health and Exercise Science program in May. I am now in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. I love to hunt and fish. When I have spare time, I like to be outdoors, hiking or on the water. At the end of the day, I like to snuggle up with a good book or a movie. I’m all about fun. If you have any ideas for events, please feel free to let me know. I look forward to a fun, exciting year.
Lindsay McIntosh, Resident Advisor
I am a senior in the Bachelor's of Nursing program here at JCHS. I am a native of Roanoke and originally went to Roanoke college for two years before transferring here and starting over with nursing. My post grad hopes are to get a job somewhere in pediatrics in Florida. I am definitely an outdoors person. I love being at the lake, kayaking, hiking, fishing, or having bonfires. I also love to craft and watch movies. I look forward to meeting all of my new residents and to welcoming back those who are returning. I'm excited to have a fun year!
Anthony Redd, Resident Advisor
I’m entering my senior year at JCHS. I’m in the Physical Therapy Assistant program and the Health & Exercise Science program. This is my second go around as an RA. I served as an RA during my time attending Emory & Henry College where I played football for 3 years. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing soccer, reading, exploring museums and playing with my soon to be 3 year old.
Bryan Haring, Resident Advisor
Hello my awesome residents! I am a senior in the Emergency Services program and I am interested on becoming a paramedic /firefighter. I am from the Richmond area and this is my third year being a Resident Advisor. I love being a Resident Advisor because I am able to help you all in any way I can and be a part of the learning experience here at JCHS. When I am not participating in school work or working, I am hanging out with my friends, hiking, fishing, or just plain sleeping. My passion is volunteering in fire and rescue operations of all sorts. I cannot wait to meet you all. Feel free to come knock on my door if you need anything, and I will help you the best I can.
