Coordinator of Residence Life

Stephanie Simpson

Welcome to our community! Whether you are a new or returning student, I look forward to working with each of you in the exciting year ahead. I was born in California, but have lived on the east coast for most of my life. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from Roanoke College where I took advantage of many enriching opportunities, one of those being residential living. My experience at Roanoke, serving as a Resident Advisor and living in a residence hall, showed me the lasting impact of a strong community. I am confident that you will also gain invaluable lessons, memories, and opportunities that come with being part of a fun and supportive community. I hope that you find a home away from home here at Jefferson College. See you soon!

Resident Advisors, also known as RAs, are student paraprofessionals who live in the Patrick Henry residence hall. RAs are primarily responsible for getting to know all students in the residence hall and helping to build a strong community. RAs provide a variety of social and educational programs for residents, carry out administrative functions associated with the residence hall, and uphold College policies, state and federal law. Additionally, one RA is on duty every night of the week beginning at 8pm and concluding at 7am the next morning in order to assist with any student issues that arise.

Adam Battaglia, Resident Advistor

adam battagliaHello! I'm Adam Battaglia, and I am in the biomedical sciences program. I hope to go to medical school and become a doctor after my time at JCHS. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking or just walking around downtown. I love living in the Patrick Henry, and meeting everyone in the dorms. Meeting new people is always fun so don't be a stranger. I know college can be tough transition, but it is well worth it. In the words of Bernie Siegel, "Embrace each challenge in your life as an opportunity for self-transformation."
