Dr. David Haynes Celebrates the 48th Anniversary of the Moon Landing

Thursday, July 20 2017

Every year on July 20, Dr. David Haynes, Director of the Occupational Therapy Graduate Programs and Associate Professor, celebrates the moon landing with Moon Pies and vintage newspapers recognizing the achievement. This year is the 48th anniversary of this milestone.

On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 launched from the Kennedy Space Center carrying crew members Neil Armstrong, Commander; Michael Collins, command module pilot; and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr., lunar module pilot. Four days later, Armstrong became the first man to step on the moon, saying, "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
