Patty Vari, Ph.D., R.N., IBCLC, CNE is the director of the MSN program at JCHS, joining as a faculty member in 2008. She received her BSN from the University of Kentucky and her MSN from the University of North Dakota. Her Ph.D. in Higher Education was also obtained at UND. Prior to coming to JCHS, Patty was a faculty member in the College of Nursing at UND and maintained her clinical expertise as a lactation consultant and mother/baby nurse in hospital and community settings. She was instrumental in initiating interprofessional education (IPE) at UND and has been involved in the development of IPE at JCHS and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Her research interest areas are lactation and interprofessional education.
