Cathy Cockrell, BS, CICP, NREMT-P

In addition to serving as an adjunct faculty at JCHS, Cathy is the Education Program Director at Western Virginia EMS Council. She is also the Virginia State AMLS Coordinator as well as the American Heart Association ECC Chair. She has 26 years in Emergency and Fire Services, beginning her career in Wilson, NC in 1987.

Cathy has worked in paid and volunteer services throughout North Carolina and Virginia and has been in EMS education since 1992. Her teaching experience consists of certification and degree level paramedic programs, EMT programs and EMT-Intermediate programs. She has traveled throughout several states from Virginia to Florida, teaching industrial and corporate fire safety as well as industrial first aid and BLS.

Cathy completed her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Emergency Medical Care from Western Carolina University and she is currently in pursuit of her Master’s Program in Health Sciences. She is an adjunct faculty with Jefferson College of Health Sciences in the Emergency Services program, as well as adjunct faculty with Cleveland Clinic’s Critical Care Program.
