Dee Stewart is a fulltime assistant professor of nursing at the Jefferson College of Health Sciences. She has been on staff since December of 2003. Dee teaches the Medical Surgical Course and has Clinical Rotations for the Accelerated Track Associate Degree Nursing Program. She also teaches pharmacology for the 1st year nursing students. Dee received her undergraduate degree from Radford University in 1989. She worked as a fulltime staff nurse and preceptor on a cardiac step down unit at Lewis Gale Medical Center for 7 years. She received her Masters Degree in Adult Health Nursing in 1997 from Radford University and then worked as a Staff educator for Lewis Gale Medical Center for 7 years. Dee's background and clinical expertise in critical care nursing and staff education has provided the foundation for her teaching. She maintains a clinical practice by working flex time as a Critical Care float nurse for Lewis Gale Medical Center. She maintains her current status as a CPR Instructor, ACLS Instructor, and PALS Instructor. Dee is involved in the Roanoke Valley Nursing Honor Society and is a member of the AACN.
