Kathleen Williams, Ph.D., R.N., is an associate professor in the nursing department. Williams is a registered nurse with a broad background that includes clinical expertise in geriatric nursing. Her research interests include ethical, administrative, and financial issues as they apply to healthcare and a growing interest in emergency preparedness. Williams received a Ph.D. in nursing from the College of Nursing and Health Science of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She earned a master?s degree in counseling psychology and a bachelor?s degree in history and sociology from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. She also earned an associate degree in nursing from Indiana University, Indianapolis, Indiana. Past work experiences include direct nursing care in the specialties of emergency mental health, long term care and hospital administration. Past academic appointments include faculty appointments at the University of Indianapolis, Rappahannock Community College and Kent State University. Williams joined the faculty at Jefferson College in the Fall, 2004. Outside the academic arena she is an avid kayaker, nature photographer and sailor.
