Annette Strickland received BSN and MSN degrees from University of Virginia. She has professional experience in the acute care setting, with nursing positions in cardiac rehabilitation and coronary care. She gained experience with worksite health promotion and cardiovascular risk reduction programs through the public health department. She also held the position of Public Health Nurse Supervisor. She has been a nurse educator for 16 years. Her first teaching position was at Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Professional Nursing. She has taught at Jefferson College of Health Sciences since 1998. She currently teaches health promotion, community health nursing, and capstone seminar and project in the RN-BSN program. She is a member of the American Red Cross Medical Reserve Corps.
