| Last fall, we held our inaugural JCHS 5K Riverside Run & Wellness Walk. The event was a great success, attracting over 200 participants to our campus and beautiful downtown Roanoke.
One of the goals of the Riverside Run & Wellness Walk is to benefit the JCHS Alumni Association as it raises money for scholarships to support current students, and SARA Inc. as they provide services to victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse and their families. Over $6,100 was raised for each organization through our activity.
JCHS will host a ceremony during which the proceeds will be presented to both organizations on:
Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 10 a.m.
Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital on the JCHS campus, in the third floor lobby
101 Elm Avenue SE, Roanoke, VA 24013
Teresa Berry, Director of SARA, Inc., and Susan Campbell, Immediate Past President of the JCHS Alumni Association, will be on hand to accept the donations from JCHS President Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop. Each will give remarks.
You are invited and encouraged to attend this important and fun event in recognition of the success of our first 5K event, as well as the important contributions we are making to our students and the Roanoke community.
We are now planning another great Riverside Run & Wellness Walk for this fall. Watch for details soon!
