| The Jefferson Center is hosting the Virginia Film Premiere of “More to Live For: An evening inspired by the life of Michael Brecker” in late March. The film chronicles three men fighting leukemia. One of those men is the late jazz icon, Michael Brecker. Following the film, Branford Marsalis & Joey Calderazzo will play a concert to pay tribute to Brecker.
As part of this larger event, JCHS will host the Marrow Match Drive on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the JCHS Third Floor Lobby.
You can help in two ways:
- Get Swabbed! Come by the tables in the lobby and have your cheek swabbed by volunteers from the “Love, Hope, Strength” organization so you can be added to the International Bone Marrow Registry.
- Volunteer! You can step up and volunteer by helping at the cheek swabbing for any amount of time between 11:30 and 1:30. It’s a great opportunity to polish those “bedside manner” skills! To volunteer, contact Dr. Sonya Echols, JCHS Director of Interprofessional Education and Faculty Development, at sechols@jchs.edu with your:
- Name
- Program of study or Department you work in, and
- E-mail address
We hope to see you at this event—a great opportunity to get involved and support the good health of our friends, families and neighbors! |
