| Description: | You're invited to the next Virginia Tech Carilion Research Insitute (VTCRI) Research Seminar that will take place on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. in room R3012 at the VTCRI in Roanoke. The speaker this week is Samy Meroueh, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, a member of the Stark neurosciences Research Institute and a member of the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Indiana University. Dr. Meroueh is the recipient of the American Cancer Society Research Scholar Award. Dr. Meroueh has published his work in Nature Medicine, Blood, J. American Chemical Society, PNAS, JBC, Nucleic Acids Research, EMBO Molecular Medicine and Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry.
Dr. Meroueh is a molecular biologist and cancer researcher who studies the molecular mechanisms of tumor suppression and the structural biological basis of signaling and targeting cancer therapeutics in breast and ovarian cancers. He also uses computational drug design to evaluate molecular docking to the human proteome. He has published a series of elegant studies on receptor-ligand interactions and three dimensional molecular structures for antibiotic binding to bacterial sites as well as in cancer signaling. On Friday, his current research seminar will explore Chemical Probing Interactions of the urokinase receptor.
We hope that you will be able to attend his seminar. |
