About Our Commencement Speaker
Jeanne S. Armentrout, M.S.
Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, Carilion Clinic
Throughout her tenure with Carilion Clinic, Ms. Armentrout has held a variety of leadership positions. In her current position, she is responsible for Organizational Integrity and Compliance, Business Consulting, Facility Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Marketing and Communications, Planning and Community Development, Home Health and Hospice and Wellness.
Prior to that, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer. Her background in organizational development has given her the opportunity to speak at many national conferences, and she has authored publications on leadership development, employee engagement and positive cultures.
She currently serves on several Carilion Boards and committees and also the Jefferson College of Health Sciences Board of Directors. In 2011, she was appointed to the Virginia Governor’s Workforce Board, and in 2015, she began chairing the Advanced Technology Committee of this board. In 2014, Governor Terry McAuliffe named her to the State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind and Vision Impaired. She is a member of the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association and is on both the Hollins University and the Roanoke College President’s Advisory Councils. Jeanne is a past recipient of the CUBIC Leadership Award from Corporate Learning Network.
