Bio:
Mr. Al Overstreet earned his M. Ed. in Counseling Education from Virginia Tech, an A.S. in Occupational Therapy Assistant and a B.S. in Health Organization Management from the College of Health Sciences. Mr. Overstreet has over 12 years of experience working with students in a variety of roles. Currently, he serves as the Director of Academic Support Services with supervisory responsibilities over Academic Advising, the Pathways to Student Success (PASS) program and the Educational Testing Center (ETC). Mr. Overstreet works directly with students by teaching the Academic Seminar course and providing academic and personal counseling. In the past, 
Mr. Overstreet served the College as faculty and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

Bio:
Sarah Cox (BA English UVA, MA Writing Hollins) is the new coordinator of the Learning and Writing Center (LWC). She comes from Virginia Western Community College, where she was a composition and literature professor and part time tutor. Sarah is also a freelance writer for area publications.

Bio:
Gayle Clary earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Mary Washington. She is currently seeking her MLIS.    Ms. Clary has worked with students in both higher education and the primary grades, with specific interest in technology, distance learning and student assessment. Bio:
Mr. Elliott Freeman earned his M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Adelphi University, and his B.A. in English from the University of Southern Mississippi. Before coming to JCHS, Mr. Freeman worked as a writing tutor, adjunct professor, editor, and designer. As Writing Specialist for the Learning and Writing Center, he provides writing support at all stages of creation, from prewriting to proofreading, primarily assisting undergraduates.

Bio:
Katie Winters earned her undergraduate in Interdisciplinary Studies and graduate degree in Special Education, General Curriculum, from Radford University. Before joining the JCHS team, Katie taught in elementary and middle school settings, earned her QMHP license, and was employed as an employment consultant, mental health clinician, and  mental health case manager.  As Disability Services Coordinator, Katie supports students with disabilities by providing appropriate classroom, testing, clinical, and housing accommodations to meet their needs.
