Convocation Ceremony

Who: Mandatory for all new students starting undergraduate and graduate programs for the fall 2016 semester.

What: The Convocation Ceremony is the formal start to your College experience--much as commencement is the formal conclusion. Faculty will process, during the ceremony, with caps and gowns. Students should dress appropriately (something you would wear to a graduation ceremony). A reception will follow the ceremony.

When: Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Doors open for seating at 8 a.m. The ceremony will run from 9 to 11 a.m.

Where:  St. John's Episcopal Church (1 Mountain Avenue Southwest, Roanoke). Students will be able to park in College parking areas and walk to the ceremony.

*As with New Student Orientation, this event is for Jefferson College students, faculty, and staff only. Due to limited seating, please do not bring parents, family, friends, or children with you; there will not be space to accommodate them.  Thank you!

Student ID Badges and Parking Passes

College ID badges are available to be made between the hours of 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m.

New students should bring one form of photo identification with them to the Student Affairs Suite on the 4th Floor of Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH) to have their College ID made.

Student Affairs also issues parking passes.  These passes are free, but students must fill out a registration form with their car and license plate information.
