Coordinator of Residence Life

Stephanie Simpson

Welcome to our community! Whether you are a new or returning student, I look forward to working with each of you in the exciting year ahead. I was born in California, but have lived on the east coast for most of my life. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree from Roanoke College where I took advantage of many enriching opportunities, one of those being residential living. My experience at Roanoke, serving as a Resident Advisor and living in a residence hall, showed me the lasting impact of a strong community. I am confident that you will also gain invaluable lessons, memories, and opportunities that come with being part of a fun and supportive community. I hope that you find a home away from home here at Jefferson College. See you soon!

Resident Advisors, also known as RAs, are student paraprofessionals who live in the Patrick Henry residence hall. RAs are primarily responsible for getting to know all students in the residence hall and helping to build a strong community. RAs provide a variety of social and educational programs for residents, carry out administrative functions associated with the residence hall, and uphold College policies, state and federal law. Additionally, one RA is on duty every night of the week beginning at 8pm and concluding at 7am the next morning in order to assist with any student issues that arise.

Adam Battaglia, Resident Advisor

Hello! I'm Adam Battaglia, and I am in the biomedical sciences program. I hope to go to medical school and become a doctor after my time at JCHS. I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking or just walking around downtown. I love living in the Patrick Henry, and meeting everyone in the dorms. Meeting new people is always fun so don't be a stranger. I know college can be tough transition, but it is well worth it. In the words of Bernie Siegel, "Embrace each challenge in your life as an opportunity for self-transformation."

Anthony Redd, Resident Advisor

reddI’m entering my senior year at JCHS. I’m in the Physical Therapy Assistant program and the Health & Exercise Science program. This is my second go around as an RA. I served as an RA during my time attending Emory & Henry College where I played football for 3 years. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing soccer, reading, exploring museums and playing with my soon to be 3 year old.

Megan Henderson, Resident Advisor

hendersonI’m Megan Henderson. I am a sophomore in the BSN program here at Jefferson. I love going downtown, crafting, and watching Food Network. When I have time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and traveling. This is my second year at the Patrick Henry, and I can’t wait to meet you all and make your year as spectacular as possible!

Rachel Strum, Resident Advisor

strumHello! My name is Rachel Strum. I am originally from Florida, but grew up in a small southern town in Virginia. I am completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences with dreams of becoming an Occupational Therapist. I enjoy spending time outside, with my family, and playing with our two dogs. In my spare time I like to flip through a Southern Living magazine, get engrossed in a Netflix marathon, or get some sunshine. I cannot wait to meet each of you and hopefully make this year the best!

Htin Dingra, Resident Advisor

dingraDon’t worry about the pronunciation! As a Charlottesville native and sophomore in the nursing program, Roanoke’s a chill place. Graham crackers dipped in Apple juice give comfort, and green is the best color in the world. When the tides of schoolwork subside once in a blue moon, I love to cook up a storm, play games (board, card, or video), Netflix it up, and hang out with friends! Living at the Patrick Henry is awesome and I hope y’all will experience the same! Don’t forget that we’re all on this roller coaster ride of life together, so remember to make a funny face when the camera flashes ;-)
