Katie Allen, B.A.
Coordinator of Residence Life
It is my honor to welcome each one of you to this upcoming school year! I am looking forward to meeting and working with you throughout the year. I was born in Minnesota but have been living in California for the past nine years. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University, where I was an RA as an undergraduate student and then worked on staff for the university's study abroad program, High Sierra. After my involvement and witnessing the powerful experience of residence life, I am looking forward to creating a memorable and empowering community for residents at Jefferson College.
Resident Advisors, also known as RAs, are student paraprofessionals who live in the Patrick Henry residence hall. RAs are primarily responsible for getting to know all students in the residence hall and helping to build a strong community. RAs provide a variety of social and educational programs for residents, carry out administrative functions associated with the residence hall, and uphold College policies, state and federal law. Additionally, one RA is on duty every night of the week beginning at 8pm and concluding at 7am the next morning in order to assist with any student issues that arise.
Lindsay McIntosh, Resident Advisor
I am a junior at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in the Bachelor's of Nursing program. I went to Roanoke College for 2 years for Biology and then transferred here to pursue nursing. I really want to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or Pediatrics. If I'm not working or sleeping, I'm doing something with my friends. We are often at the lake, hiking or making bonfires. I love to go hiking, kayak and just be outdoors. I also love to craft and go see movies. I'm very excited to get to know all of my new residents and welcome returning residents. I look forward to having a fun year with everyone!
