Jefferson College MSOT and OTA Students and Faculty Attend National AOTA Conference

The Annual American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) National Conference was held April 6-10, 2016 in Chicago. AOTA is the largest occupational therapy conference in the world, hosting over 10,000 occupational therapy practitioners, educators, students and researchers. The 2016 conference was the largest Annual Conference in AOTA's history.

This conference offered the opportunity to advance current knowledge with over 1,000 professional presentations. The conference expo had 350 exhibitors which allowed the students to learn about new and improved treatment ideas, seating devices, and meet authors of current references.

Jason Browning, Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy, along with students from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale presented on the occupation of sleep. Three Jefferson College Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy students also assisted during this presentation. Ave Mitta, Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, and nine Jefferson College students were in attendance.
