 Did YOU Celebrate with "JCHS Celebrates"?
On Tuesday, April 8, 2008, JCHS hosted "JCHS Celebrates," a fun event in which our students, faculty and staff traveled across our campus and throughout our buildings discovering the many celebrations we hold every year. From birthdays and Oktoberfest to Superbowl parties and "Mike the Headless Chicken Day," we observed some of the more outrageous and fun holidays during the year.
The celebration voted most popular by participants was Halloween, hosted by the Nursing Department. They will hold the coveted Magnificent Tree of Celebratory Delight until our next competition.
Other departments hosting celebrations included:
- Alumni/Development and Communications - Superbowl
- Student Services - Oktoberfest
- The Learning Resource Center - Valentine's Day
- Humanities and Health Psychology - Birthdays
- Admissions: New Year
- Registrar's Office - Mike the Headless Chicken Day

- Administration - Cinco de Mayo
- Rehab and Wellness - Spring

 Check Out New Respiratory Therapy Lab at CRCH!
In 2007, Carilion Clinic consolidated its services under one roof at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. This left many spaces at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH) empty and JCHS has been given some of this space for new classrooms, labs and office areas. This spring, the Respiratory Therapy Department moved their labs to the ninth floor of CRCH and we want to give you a peek at their new labs.

 JCHS Creates First Annual Art Show
"JCHS Creates," a group on campus that specializes in helping our College Community show off their hidden creative talents, hosted their first annual art show on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008. From sculpture to pottery, jewelry, quilting and paintings, we had just about everything submitted for the show.
