Denise “De-dee” Foti, DNP, R.N. serves as an associate director for the Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Jefferson College of Health Sciences. She assists the BSN Program Director in organizing, administering, implementing, and evaluating the overall effectiveness of the program. Dr. Foti also assists in periodic review of the effectiveness of the academic program per accreditation standards. Dr. Foti is responsible for providing leadership within the program and facilitating communication, clarification and implementation of policies and procedures in addition to teaching, advising, and service activities.
Dr. Foti is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University where she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is a terminal professional degree that focuses on the clinical aspects of nursing. The DNP prepares registered nurses to become advanced practice registered nurses. Advanced practice roles in nursing include the nurse practitioner (NP), certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), certified nurse midwife (CNM), and the clinical nurse specialist (CNS).
Dr. Foti is an alumna of Jefferson College of Health Sciences where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Radford University where she earned her Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Dr. Foti’s nursing background consists of care provided in the pediatric, adult, and neonatal intensive care unit settings at Carilion Clinic. Dr. Foti serves as a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), Virginia Nurses Association (VNA), National League for Nursing (NLN), and Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). Dr. Foti currently leads the Roanoke Valley Chapter for the VNA.
