Dr. Jeannie Garber is a doctorally prepared Healthcare Administrator and Registered Nurse who brings over 30 years of clinical, administrative and higher education experience to the classroom. Throughout her career, she has held diverse healthcare leadership positions such as Hospital Director, Administrative Director for Cardiology, Radiology and Oncology, Director of Noninvasive Cardiology and Vascular Services and Administrative Director of Graduate Medical Education. She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Jefferson College of Health Sciences Department of Nursing and as an Assistant Professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) in the Department of Interprofessionalism. She is a course director in the Interprofessional Leadership course where nursing, medical and physician assistant students experience a year long course focused on teamwork and collaboration in healthcare. She also serves as the Chair of the Faculty Governance Committee at VTSCOM. Dr. Garber has developed advanced skills in communication, relationship-centered interactions, project management and quality performance measurement. Dr. Garber completed her Doctoral work at Case Western Reserve University, obtained her Masters Degree from the University of Virginia, Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Radford University and her Associate in Applied Science degree from Virginia Western Community College.
