Dr. Milena Staykova has been a nurse for 23 years (19 in critical care) and a faculty member for 7 years. As an educator, Dr. Staykova has taught at Pace University, NY, VWCC, and JCHS. As a nurse practitioner, she has experience from several areas such as ED, occupational health, and OBG and peds. She has worked in the best hospitals in NY such as NYPH, Cornell and Columbia Medical Center; Mount Sinai Queens; and SUNY Downstate. Dr. Staykova has received a diploma from Bulgaria, a BSN from the first nursing school in the U.S., the Bellevue School of Nursing at Hunter College, NY; a MS from Pace University, NY-she graduated with a medal for outstanding achievements; and an EdD from University of Phoenix, School of Advanced Studies, AZ. Dr Saykova has conducted multiple research studies and she has been published several times. Dr. Stakova’s research interests include as follows: engaging students in active learning, faculty competencies, interprofessional education, preceptorship, and empowering cancer patients.
