Dr. Rhoda Murray is the current Chair of the Nursing Department at Jefferson College of Health Sciences. Prior to becoming Chair, Dr. Murray was the Program Director for the Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She joined Jefferson College of Health Sciences in 2012 as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Murray received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from South Carolina State University, a Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D in Education with a specialization in Nursing Education from Capella University. Dr. Murray is a nationally-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 24 years of nursing experience. As a veteran and military wife, she has worked across the country as a critical nurse and has practiced as a nurse practitioner in both family practice and geriatrics. Rhoda continues to practice as a nurse practitioner with geriatric clients.

In 2016, Dr. Murray received the Jefferson College of Health Sciences Faculty Award for Excellence in Advising; and in 2017, the Faculty Award for Excellence in Student Development.
