Ms. Sarah Cox holds a BA in English from UVA (1979), and an MA in writing from Hollins (1987). She has background in public relations, marketing, writing and college-level English instruction and has been a freelance writer since 1988. She has experience in business, food, travel and profile writing. Sarah has spoken at several area writing workshops and is a published poet. Before joining JCHS in August 2013, she had been an English teacher at Virginia Western Community College with training and experience in Developmental Education, English Language Learners instruction (ELL), research paper writing, literature and composition. Having lived in six different countries growing up, Sarah has been able to lend a voice to the Cultural Awareness Service Excellence (CASE) committee, as well as the Title III Grant committee.
