Faculty Development at Jefferson College

Mission and Goals

The mission of the Office of Faculty Development at Jefferson College is to nurture all faculty in their development as educators, as scholars of teaching and learning, and as contributors to their professions and the institution in the pursuit to create ethical, knowledgeable, competent, caring healthcare professionals.

The goals of the Jefferson College Faculty Development Program are to:

  1. Provide resources and professional development opportunities appropriate to both our distance and on-site faculty, at all ranks and positions, to improve their skills as educators.
  2. Offer a holistic approach to faculty development so to enhance the characteristics of faculty members in higher education, including teaching, scholarship/research, service activities, and leadership skills.
  3. Create an environment of interprofessionalism united in the development of healthcare education through collaboration inside and outside the institution.
