Welcome to the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management webpage. This program is for people with a passion to serve others. The focus of the program and faculty is to provide stimulating learning experiences that will develop students' knowledge and skills while deepening their commitment to serve their clients and community. We are a small faculty who are committed to the professional education and practice of healthcare management.
Specifically, this healthcare management program is designed to develop managers and leaders in the dynamic US healthcare industry by developing sound and ethical managerial competencies that prepare students to advance into supervisory and leadership positions in a variety of health organizations and settings.
The curriculum is a balance of liberal arts and healthcare management courses that strongly encourage students to question, analyze, and become active participants in a broad array of health care and policy issues that include access to care, affordability of care, quality of care, health promotion, and public health.
This program employs an accelerated learning approach that integrates distance education and in-class instruction to provide quality education in a flexible format. For every in-class hour, students will participate in 3 additional out-of-class hours of learning. This provides working students with greater time flexibility to accommodate busy work and family schedules.
You will be able to take a full-time course load of 12 credits each semester by attending class one evening a week (each class is 4 hours). This enables students to take courses together as a cohort and thus ensures that students will complete the program within two years.
I would like to end by saying that recent labor statistics indicate the job outlook and salaries for health care management is growing faster than the national average and that means more high-paying job opportunities for our graduates. Alternatively, for those interested in graduate studies, this program will successfully prepare students for advanced studies in business and health related disciplines.
