Jefferson College of Health Sciences’ Office of Research and Development will be a leading hub for innovative and collaborative scholarly work that seeks to transform academic and health sciences fields through knowledge and scientific discoveries.

Mission Statement
Jefferson College’s Office of Research and Development exists to support faculty in their pursuit of scholarly activity and extramural funding. The Office provides the infrastructure, leadership, training, and resources to promote integrated scholarly activity, enhance research productivity, and increase external funding of research programs throughout the College.

Jefferson College considers scholarly activity an essential role of the faculty. Scholarly activity is considered in faculty rank and promotion.

Scholarship encompasses a full range of intellectual and creative activities that may include the generation, validation, synthesis, and/or application of knowledge to advance teaching, research, and practice. It is associated with achievement of excellence, rigorous inquiry, reflective thought, expert knowledge, openness to criticism, peer review, and new ways of viewing phenomena of concern to individuals in the health sciences (Glassick, 1997).

Jefferson College’s Office of Research and Development exists to support you in your pursuit of scholarly activity and extramural funding. Whether you are new to scholarship and would like help developing an idea into a project or research concept, an experienced researcher looking for funding for a project, or somewhere in between, we can provide the support you need to move your scholarly goals forward. We can assist you with the following phases of project development:
