JCHS Recognizes Our Veterans in Observance of Veteran's Day

Monday, November 11 2013

On Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, JCHS recognized our veterans and active military members with a luncheon in our student union, The Dog House. Everyone in attendance enjoyed wonderful food and great conversation.

Another part of our celebration included a world map placed in the third floor lobby of Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital on the JCHS campus. We asked our veteran and active military students, faculty and staff to place pins in the map indicating where they had served. JCHS President Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop (far right above) recognized several of these veterans at the map, including (left to right) JCHS Medical Laboratory Sciences Program alum Aisha Ali, '13; current JCHS student Sean Rahall; Associate Director of the Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner Rhoda Murray, Ph.D.; and Dean for Student Affairs Scott Hill.

Aisha, Sean, Rhoda and Scott are all military veterans.
