MSN Students, 2016 Cohort, made a trip to the General Assembly in Richmond to promote issues important to nursing and patients. They met with their legislators or their assistants to advocate for related bills. Mark Lawrence, Carilion Clinic Vice President for Governmental Affairs, gave them a primer for the day before visiting the Health Committee meeting, and then gathered with Virginia Nurses Association representatives, who sponsored the Lobby Day. They visited the Senate Chambers where they were recognized by the Senate President.
